In today's society Theta Xi works to develop charitable interests which bring positive results to the local community.  Theta Xi's primary philanthropic partner is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.   Throughout the calandar year, the brothers of Theta Xi work to find new and unique means of raising money and awareness for MS.

The annual "Miracle Mile" fundraiser is one such event that has traditionally had  the largest success, raising thousands of dollars per year for MS.  During a week long campaign, brothers solicit pledges and donations of quarters, setting each end-to-end with the goal of reaching 1 mile long.

Additionally, the chapter has an interest in helping those of our own alumni who may have fallen on hardship or sickness.  If you or your family are in need, or know of another brother who needs help, please contact Phil Nimmo to discuss what the chapter can do to help.

           Reaching Out

Early in 2009 we were contacted by the family of one of our own alumni brothers, Frank Elkovich, KΣ 62.  Frank has been battling with MS for many years, and has progressed to a stage where he is dependant on wheelchair transportation.  Frank's wife Rose reached out to the chapter and alumni for help in funding a new advanced wheelchair to improve his mobility and quality of life.

The chapter quickly organized a "Brotherhood Auction" where members were auctioned off to the highest bidder for an evening of service.  The chapter houses for the ladies from Alpha Sigma Alpha & Alpha Phi have never seen such level of cleanliness!  The event raised $750.

The money raised by the chapter is but a small contribution to a need which is much greater.  If you would like to make a contribution to help Frank, please visit the link below to view a video from him and contact the alumni association.
